Our stay at Sofitel Motu Bora Bora was a true delight! The private island setting offered stunning views, particularly from our bungalow facing Mt. Otemanu. The staff was warm and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home. While the dining options were fairly limited and a bit pricey for what you get, the breakfast buffet was decent. Overall, it’s a fantastic value for a tropical getaway, but the Wi-Fi service could definitely use some improvement.

The bungalows were clean and modern, complete with a lovely staircase that takes you directly into the water. I felt comfortable with the king-size bed and modern bathroom amenities.
Service
10.0
The service was exceptional; staff members like Denise and Anita went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay, even greeting us with a plate of fresh pineapple and champagne!
Location

Situated on a private motu, the location was perfect for seclusion, yet it was easy to access the main island for activities and dining options.
Dining

Dining options were limited on the private island with only breakfast served regularly, but food quality was consistently decent. The local grocery store nearby helped us stock up on snacks.

The hotel provides free kayak rentals and snorkel gear for guests to explore the surrounding coral gardens, adding a nice touch to our stay.

My stay at the Motu Private Island was a remarkable experience characterized by breathtaking views and a unique coral garden. The rooms boasted beautiful privacy and comfort, although service could use improvement, especially regarding room amenities. The location of the resort was truly stunning, offering an idyllic getaway, but be prepared for some inconveniences related to dining options and accessibility to the main resort. Overall, it was a magical place with a few minor drawbacks.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were beautifully decorated and offered fantastic privacy while providing stunning views of the lagoon. However, we faced issues with the amenities not being up to standard.
Service
6.0
Service was generally friendly, but there were several hiccups with room amenities like the fridge and coffee machine. These took multiple requests to resolve.
Location
10.0
The location is nothing short of spectacular, providing gorgeous views and direct access to a remarkable coral garden for snorkeling.
Dining
5.0
Dining at the main restaurant left much to be desired; the food was disappointing and the buffet style didn't match the romantic tropical experience we were hoping for.
Facilities

The facilities included plenty of kayaks and relaxing spots, but the lack of evening dining options on the Motu was a letdown.

I had an unforgettable experience at the hotel, enjoying the stunning views and the spacious, modern rooms. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and we appreciated the proximity to a small grocery store and great dining options nearby. However, the dining experience at the hotel was limited, with breakfast being the only meal served, and the service at times felt disorganized. Overall, the stay was incredibly relaxing and definitely worth it.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with our needs, though some coordination with activities could improve.
Location

The hotel is ideally located on a quiet motu, perfect for relaxation, and is close to a small supermarket and several restaurants.
Dining

The breakfast was good, featuring fresh fruits and an omelet station, but the dining options at the hotel for lunch and dinner were quite limited.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort, enjoying the privacy of our overwater bungalow and the stunning views of the lagoon. The warm welcome we received was a highlight, although the dining options could be improved as selection was limited. The snorkeling gear and other activities provided added to the fun, making our overall experience memorable despite some issues with the room condition.

Rooms
7.0
Our overwater bungalow was comfortable but showed signs of wear and could use some updates. The bathroom was nice, and we loved the private sunbathing area, but the general condition didn't match the luxury price tag.
Service
8.0
The service was friendly overall, especially from the Manager who really went out of her way to ensure our comfort after we expressed disappointment with our initial room.
Location

The location was stunning, with breathtaking views of the lagoon and convenient access to the beach. It felt very private and exclusive.
Dining
6.0
The dining options at the hotel were quite limited, which was disappointing, especially at the private island restaurant. However, I enjoyed the breakfasts at the main island, which had a good variety.
Facilities

The facilities were generally good with access to snorkeling gear and canoes, but I wished for more variety in dining and room amenities.

While Bora Bora is known for its beautiful scenery, my stay at Sofitel Marara Beach Resort had its challenges. The location is stunning, but the accommodations fell short, particularly regarding safety and service. I appreciated some efforts from the staff, but the overall experience left much to be desired, especially after the storm incident.

Rooms
6.0
We stayed in a beach hut which was meant to be a safe option, but the lack of railings in the over-water bungalows raised safety concerns for us. The room itself was decent but required maintenance.
Service
5.0
The service was inconsistent. During a severe storm, no one had the courtesy to inform us of safety precautions, which was concerning. Overall, the staff seemed overwhelmed, and not very accommodating.
Location
9.0
The resort is in a picturesque setting with easy access to the lagoon, which is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The boat rides to the private island were a highlight.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were quite limited and overpriced; I didn't find the food very tasty. Breakfast was adequate, but overall, I expected more variety.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had great facilities like beautiful beaches and snorkeling, but they need better maintenance. The lack of basic supplies and cleanliness was frustrating.
